Liberals Raise Concern of Testing Delays
Reports of Covid-19 testing delays among Islanders are becoming a concern – especially as school is getting set to re-open, says Liberal Opposition Leader Sonny Gallant.
“I have heard several reports of parents waiting days for test appointments and results – and this means both the children and their families are facing periods of uncertainty and isolation."
“With school set to open soon, the process must be improved.”
As everyone knows, the first days of school are often accompanied by cold-like symptoms, which may appear similar to Covid-19.
“That is a simple reality, and parents, students and educators need the confidence of knowing that tests will be handled rapidly. There will be plenty of stresses in the first weeks of school, and reducing that anxiety will require fast, effective tests.”
